HRH Prince Philip chats with Ken Davey, Founder & Managing Director of Smarter Grower Champagne, and offers some advice and encouragement.

HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, gave Ken J Davey MBA FCMA, Founder & Managing Director of Smarter Grower Champagne some advice and encouragement, while on an official visit to the British Library.

Ken was undertaking some research at the time on a new export venture that will seek to promote, distribute and sell the high quality and unique produce of the smaller English & Welsh producers of Original Still Wine, Premium Sparkling Wine, Craft Beer & Traditional Cider & Perry to the emerging Asian markets, in particular Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.

Prince Philip showed real interest, particularly as the royal family has set up its own vineyard in Windsor Great Park to produce English wine. He made a joke about the parakeets eating their grape harvest and wished Ken best of luck in his new venture.
